Maryland Right to Life (MDRTL) recognizes the fundamental value of every human life. MDRTL works to protect all people by endeavoring to make abortion, infanticide, euthanasia, physician-assisted suicide, and the destruction of human embryos socially, legally, and morally unacceptable and by promoting positive alternatives to these acts.

The National Silent No More Awareness Campaign is an effort to make the public aware of the devastation that abortion brings upon women, men, and their families. The emotional and physical pain of abortion will no longer be shrouded in secrecy and silence, but rather exposed and healed. This effort is a key to make abortion unthinkable and persuade society that women deserve better than abortion.

The National Right to Life Committee was founded in 1973 in response to the United States Supreme Court decision released on January 22 of that year, legalizing the practice of human abortion in all 50 states, throughout the entire nine months of pregnancy. Prior to that Supreme Court case -- Roe vs. Wade -- the abortion debate had been centered in the legislatures of the states, 17 of which had legalized abortion under some circumstances and 33 of which had voted to continue to protect human life from conception.
